CELLFIL, a Horizon Europe-funded innovation project, has been launched with a €6.9 million budget to enhance the textile value chain, enabling the sustainable and robust production of lyocell filaments. By optimizing the entire fabric production process and its intermediate steps, the project aims to replace synthetic fibers with environmentally friendly lyocell filaments in recyclable end applications. With this innovative approach, CELLFIL aims to develop and utilize alternative raw material sources for textiles.

BIOBUILD, a Horizon Europe funded Innovation project has been launched with a €4.9 million budget to provide thermal solutions for energy efficient buildings using fully bio-based building materials. The project incorporates bio-based phase change materials (bioPCMs) into solid wood and fibers bound by plant oil resins, lignin and fungal mycelium. With its innovative approach, BIOBUILD aims to reduce up to 20% of energy consumption in buildings.

SAGROPIA, a Horizon Europe Innovation project, was launched in January 2024 with a budget of €6 million to provide biological solutions and innovative IPM strategies for sustainable farming of row crops like potato and sugarbeet in Europe. The SAGROPIA project, with its innovative solutions, will focus on biocontrol methods for combating plant pests and diseases and contribute to the EU’s target of 50% chemical pesticide reduction in agriculture.

The 4-year FUELGAE project was launched with 5€ million in EU-funding from the Horizon Europe/CINEA programme. FUELGAE seeks to develop a method of producing biofuels out of carbon dioxide emissions using microalgae. The objective is to promote the energy transition by demonstrating that CO2 emissions can be converted into a sustainable energy resource.

The SUSHEAT project was launched with secured European Union funding of almost €4.7 million from the Horizon Europe/CINEA programme to provide a labscale, pilot high-temperature thermal heat upgrade solution for industrial processes. The SUSHEAT solution will harvest and store thermal energy up to 250°C for industry to use on demand.
