BIOBUILD, a Horizon Europe project, has just launched its website: explore sustainable construction solutions for energy efficiency and a greener future. Discover BioBuild’s objectives, challenges, innovative solutions, and environmental impacts.
Learn with BIOBUILD by visiting our website. The project’s central hub offers insights into groundbreaking research, challenges, and project solutions. Click on building blocks to delve deeper into the project’s core elements, including eco-friendly materials, innovative production processes, and optimization methods. Each block is a source of valuable knowledge. Join us and explore!
The project’s commitment is to test and implement eco-friendly materials that redefine the norms of construction. From mycelium-based wallboards to bio-binders derived from lignin and plant oils, the project explores a diverse range of sustainable options aimed at reducing environmental footprint.
BIOBUILD prioritizes innovation and sustainability in its production processes, employing cutting-edge techniques to minimize the environmental footprint of construction. Explore the project’s impregnation methods, the thermovuoto process, microwave approaches, and bio-binders derived from plant oil resins, lignin, and fungal mycelia.
The BIOBUILD project designs and manufactures wood building prototypes featuring impregnated bioPCM wood flooring and wallboards. Two houses will be constructed in Sweden and Spain. Additionally, the project will assess the sustainability of these products and conduct dynamic building performance simulations. These simulations are crucial in selecting optimal bioPCM material properties for specific climatic conditions and will provide energy consumption data throughout the operational phase for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Explore the project’s demo sites where our innovative solutions are put to the test in real-world settings. Additionally, delve into our media corner, featuring press releases, scientific publications and events.
Stay informed about the latest developments in sustainable and innovative construction and be a part of the conversation driving green change.
We invite you to visit our website, explore its various pages, and engage with the vibrant BIOBUILD community on social media @biobuildEU. Learn about the potential of bio-based building materials and join us in shaping a greener future
